A tree in Premlok Park, Pimpri Chinchwad, became the centre of a viral ‘miracle’ after locals saw water flowing from its trunk on Friday night. Believing it to be divine, residents garlanded the tree, applied turmeric, and collected the water, calling it amritdhara.
However, the mystery was soon solved. Following a complaint, civic officials found that a burst underground pipeline had caused water to seep through the tree’s base. The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation clarified it was no miracle, just a leak.
Despite the clarification, the incident sparked a meme fest and spiritual frenzy online. Repairs are now underway to fix the pipe and the confusion.
