Marcos gives Siquijor power provider 6 months to resolve power crisis
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on June 11, 2025 assures residents of Siquijor that measures are being taken to address and resolve the ongoing power crisis in the province. The President gave Siquijor Island Power Corp. (SIPCOR) six months to fully resolve the energy crisis after inspecting the SIPCOR Power Plant in Siquijor town. The President ordered the Department of Energy to address the recurring power interruptions and also instructed the investigation of the Province of Siquijor Electric Cooperative, the island's power provider.
