The Transport Ministry has revoked the vehicle permit of the bus owner linked to the recent UPSI crash in Gerik, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced on Wednesday (June 11).
Speaking after the weekly post-Cabinet meeting, Loke said early investigations revealed that the Kedah-based operator had illegally loaned the bus to another individual in Kelantan for RM500 a month—violating permit regulations.
He also announced that the Land Transport Agency (Apad) would develop a centralised database of bus drivers, which would include records of blacklisted drivers and past offences.
