Olympic gold medalist Sha’Carri Richardson has joined women-focused athletics startup Athlos as an owner-advisor, according to Benzinga. She is stepping into a leadership role as the company prepares to launch a multi-city, team-based league in 2026, Reuters reports. Founded by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, Athlos debuted in 2024 as a standalone track meet and aims to reimagine women’s track and field as a season-long entertainment product. Joining Richardson as co-owners are fellow Olympians Tara Davis-Woodhall and Gabby Thomas. Athlos Chief Media Officer Kayla Green said the company is building the league around athletes, with input from the advisory group shaping its development. Reuters reports that Athlos uses athlete co-ownership and revenue-sharing to boost visibility and earning potential for women athletes outside traditional models.
