Reddit is gaining visibility through Google's AI Overviews, with Semrush data showing it as the second-most-cited source behind Quora. This surge follows a $60 million licensing deal that allows Google to train its AI on Reddit content, according to Benzinga. Semrush said Quora and Reddit are valuable sources for AI because their users address niche questions not commonly answered elsewhere. Reddit's increase in web traffic is mainly due to logged-out users arriving via Google Search, who don't sign in or stay on the site, Business Insider reported. Redburn analysts noted these users have limited value because they visit only briefly to find specific answers. Reddit is under pressure to grow ad revenue and prove long-term profitability following its IPO in 2023. Shares have declined 28.77% year-to-date but have surged 95.82% over the past 12 months, according to Benzinga Pro data.
