The India vs England first Test 2025 at the Headingley, Leeds on Day 4 saw India set a target of 371 in front of England. England ended the Day 4's play on 21/0 and still needs 350 runs to win. India resumed their second innings on Day 4 morning and lost the wicket of Shubman Gill early to Brydon Carse. Rishabh Pant (118) joined hands with KL Rahul (137) and the duo stitched a partnership of 195 runs. They went through the first session cautiously and avoided any kind of collapse and went hard in the session after lunch where they plundered runs and played their strokes. Pant shattered records with centuries in consecutive innings. KL Rahul scored his ninth Test century as well. As it seemed the duo will guide India to a winning total, they were dismissed and India suffered a collapse, losing their last six wickers for only 31 runs. Brydon Carse and Josh Tongue were the pick of the England bowlers having picked three wickets each. England will have to chase 350 more runs with ten wickets in hand to secure their first win of the series.
