Transport Minister Anthony Loke has reminded companies operating heavy vehicles that they are responsible for settling outstanding traffic fines incurred by their drivers.
Speaking at an event at KL Sentral on Thursday (June 26), Loke emphasised that operating permits are issued to companies, not individual drivers, and thus the accountability rests with the company.
He added that the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) will be instructed to intensify monitoring efforts to curb repeat offences, and audits will also be conducted on companies or drivers with multiple violations.
