Outgoing Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain paused for an awkward 18 seconds during his speech on Monday (June 30) after momentarily forgetting the name of the new Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Shuhaily—who officially takes over as director of the Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) on Tuesday (July 1)—apologised to IGP Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail for the slip and thanked both him and Deputy IGP Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay for attending the ceremony.
He also expressed his appreciation to CID officers for their unwavering support during his tenure, adding that his departure marks not a farewell, but the beginning of a new chapter in public service.
