Marcos directs govt agency to activate disaster preparedness measures
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directs concerned government agencies to activate disaster preparedness measures to mitigate the effects of the rainy season, Malacañang said on July 3, 2025. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the President ordered the immediate clearing of drainages in Metro Manila to avert massive flooding. She also said that the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) were also mobilized to assist, with TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers) beneficiaries enlisted to help clean the waterways.
