Edit for headphones, June 2025. A song from Orange Bicycle's 2001 2cd album "Hyacinth Threads - The Morgan Blue Town Recordings" (medcd 688).
I tried to improve the album's sad quality of this song. I also removed the intro that some overzealous arranger thought was necessary but in fact seriously harmed the song. Violins, sometimes a blessing, sometimes a disaster. A bad intro can kill a song partly. The song was recorded in 1967, but was never released on vinyl. The album has some songs in bad quality, like this one, here and there sounding like they came from damaged tape.
Bass – John Bachini
Drums – Wil Malone
Guitar – Gary Hooper
Keyboards – Wil Malone
Vocals – Robb Scales, Wil Malone
JANE
Jane she will sail away
to a sunny day
where the rainbows play
Jane no you're not to blame
when it starts to rain
you just play your game
and keep on dreaming
see how the world looks square
the people there
they don't seem to care
about you
who can blame you if it keeps on raining
get so tired explaining
it's not worth the changing
Jane she will sail away
to a sunny day
where the rainbows play
Jane no you're not to blame
when it starts to rain
you just play your game
and keep on dreaming
you just play your game
and keep on dreaming
you just play your game
and keep on dreaming Jane
you just play your game
and keep on dreaming Jane
you just play your game
and keep on dreaming Jane
just play your game
and keep on dreaming Jane
just play your game
and keep on dreaming
