Typhoon Danas hit Chiayi in southern Taiwan on Sunday night, the first typhoon to make landfall there in over a century. Heavy rain and strong winds uprooted trees and toppled shop signs and night market stands. Residents are now assessing the damage and beginning the cleanup.
