Since 1972, Jane Dotchin, now in her 80s, has shown the world what true resilience and spirit look like. Every year, she sets off on a remarkable 600-mile journey from her home near Hexham, Northumberland, to Inverness, Scotland. Her loyal horse Diamond carries her through the breathtaking countryside, while her disabled Jack Russell terrier, Dinky, rides comfortably in a saddlebag. Traveling 15 to 20 miles a day over seven weeks, Jane camps along the way with just the essentials: a tent, food, and a few belongings. Despite wearing an eyepatch and living off-grid, she embraces this annual trek with unbreakable determination and joy, cherishing the friends sheβs made over decades on the road. Janeβs story is a beautiful testament to the fact that adventure, freedom, and love for nature know no age limit.
