A woman who hasn’t shaved in six years has gone viral after opening up about the “arduous task” of hair removal.
“I used to shave regularly for years and it felt like an arduous task, but it also seemed necessary — as a woman — to feel beautiful, hygienic, and attractive,” said Georgia Peck, a holistic health coach, in her viral TikTok video.
Peck went on to explain the reasoning behind her decision: “Honestly, it’s a lot of effort, and the prickly regrowth that started just a day after shaving was really uncomfortable.”
“It became another thing I was trying to ‘fix’ about myself that was never broken to begin with. Why is it totally normal for men to have body hair, but for women it’s considered unattractive and unhygienic?” she questioned.
The video has already garnered over 8 million views, and many viewers have expressed their support in the comments. “I wish more people would do this — it would be more normalised. Shame-based choices are awful,” one user wrote.
