To the untrained eye, the philosopher Diogenes of Sinope looked like just another homeless man living in a tub in ancient Athens, but he was a lot more than that. He was one of the greatest philosophical minds ancient Greece had to offer. Diogenes was a living criticism of Athenian society. He embodied frugality and simplicity as virtues, but most importantly, he left countless petty anecdotes. He brushed off the terrifying Alexander the Great and had a bitter feud with Plato.
