On day 1,251 of the Russia-Ukraine war, Kyiv was hit again — this time by a massive overnight drone and missile strike. A 25-storey residential building was damaged, injuring eight people, including a four-year-old girl. Ukraine’s Air Force intercepted most of the 324 drones and missiles, but some still got through, igniting fires and hitting critical locations. Russia claims it struck a major air base and a drone component depot.
Meanwhile, Poland scrambled jets as missiles flew near its border. Russia also claims to have captured two more settlements in the east. In a surprising turn, pro-Ukraine hackers reportedly grounded over 50 Aeroflot flights in a major cyberattack.
On the political front, Donald Trump issued a new peace deadline to Russia, prompting a positive response from Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy. And Ukraine is growing more self-reliant — producing over 71% of its weapons domestically.
Watch this quick update for the latest on the battlefield, diplomacy, and cyber front.
