The old Gnar Bros crew reunited for a late-season backcountry ski mission to Mt. Lassen, California’s southernmost active volcano.
We left Tahoe on Thursday afternoon and arrived at the trailhead around 8 PM. After a couple beers, some discreet camping, and way too little sleep, we were skinning by 5:30AM to beat the forecasted heatwave.

❄️ Surprisingly great snow up top, the bottom was way better than it deserved to be!
I was battling some glute pain and then a brutal stomach cramp in the final 800 feet... but we all tagged the summit and got to enjoy classic Lassen corn.
This trip was a mix of reunion, nostalgia, and good energy, and the conditions delivered.
