Hontiveros seeks accountability, legal culpability for officials in ghost projects
Sen. Risa Hontiveros says there must be full accountability and legal culpability for officials involved in ghost and substandard projects, stressing that resignation from their post or social media ridicule is not enough. In a press conference in Cebu City on Sept. 6, 2025, Hontiveros said no one should be exempt from scrutiny, including her colleagues in the Senate and other lawmakers. Her remarks come amid public outrage over flawed flood control projects, which have exposed lapses in government oversight and possible misuse of public funds.
