Thousands protest in Nepal against social media ban, corruption
Aerial shots show thousands of people protesting in the streets of Kathmandu, demanding the government lift its social media ban and tackle corruption. Additional images show police firing shots at the demonstrators, and protesters hurling objects.
Several social media sites — including Facebook, YouTube and X — have been inaccessible in Nepal since Friday after the government blocked 26 unregistered platforms, leaving users angry and confused.
