Iceland has just witnessed its twelfth volcanic eruption in only four years — and this time, it’s dangerously close to the capital, Reykjavik.

Lava poured from a deep fissure in the Earth near the deserted town of Grindavik, forcing emergency evacuations of locals and tourists from the famous Blue Lagoon spa.
