The Tasmanian planning commission has recommended a proposed new AFL stadium in Hobart should not be built. The commission found the stadium is too big for the waterfront site at Macquarie point and the project would be too expensive for the social and economic returns. The AFL has restated a new stadium in Hobart with a roof is a condition for Tasmania being granted an AFL licence.
