Marcos launches personalized student beep cards
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Sept. 20, 2025 leads the metro-wide launch of the personalized white student Beep cards as part of the government's efforts to make travel faster and more affordable for students. The president, joined by acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez, launched the discounted Beep cards at the Legarda station of Light Rail Transit- 2 (LRT-2) in Manila. The personalized Beep cards, which will automatically charge train passengers with a 50 percent discount, may be claimed at any of the LRT and Metro Rail Transit lines. Student passengers must provide valid school IDs or school registration to avail of their personalized Beep cards in Beep card printing booths per station.
