World leaders express support for Zelenskyy
World leaders gather for the Fifth Summit of the Crimea Platform on Sept. 24, 2025 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. Ukraine's President Volodomyr Zelenskyy called on allies to resist Russia's move of wanting to 'make war the new normal' and appealed against "allowing killings and Russian occupation to become something the world can simply turn a blind eye to." He said Russia "must be held accountable for the occupation (of Ukraine) and for all the crimes of this war, a war in which only Russia is guilty." Estonian President Alar Karis, whose country's airspace was recently breached by the Russian fighter jets, condemned 'systematic human rights violations by Russia against civilians, including the indigenous people, Crimean Tatars, who suffer the most under the occupation of Crimea and the war of aggression against Ukraine, and who resist oppression while standing for independent media and information.'
