Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia – 24 September 2025 – A video recorded in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky showed the moment a man narrowly avoided a bear attack in a city car park.
The episode was part of a series of violent attacks by the animal, which had already been placed on a wanted list and was later shot dead by local authorities.
According to law enforcement agencies, the predator’s first target was a 12-year-old pupil. The bear attacked the boy, latching onto his backpack. Showing composure, the child fell to the ground and pretended to be dead, which made the animal lose interest and continue searching for other victims.
The second attack took place in a car park in the Leninsky district, where a man was surprised by the bear. He quickly managed to leap into his car, while the animal smashed the windows and dented the vehicle but failed to reach him.
