Mapua fights off Arellano for 2nd win in NCAA 101
Defending champion Mapua University overcame a fiery second-half blitz by the Arellano University, 90-87, to pick up its second win in Pool A of the NCAA Season 101 men’s basketball tournament on Oct. 4, 2025 at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City. Cardinals team captain Clint Escamis was four points shy of his career-high 31 points that he made in the semifinals versus Lyceum, as he paced his team with 29 points on 62.5 percent field-goal shooting efficiency, complemented by three rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
