Filipino-made electric ferry launched
Dr. Lew Andrew Tria, project leader and director of the University of the Philippines Diliman Electrical and Electronics Engineering Institute; Sonia Malaluan, administrator of MARINA; Dr. Carl Michael Odulio, vice chancellor for Research and Development of the University of the Philippines; and Dr. Enrico C. Paringit, Executive Director of DOST PCIEERD, led the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the launch of MB Dalaray—the first Filipino-made electric-powered ferry on Monday.
DOST Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. expressed hope that they would get more partners from the private sector to invest in electronically powered ferries.
Solidum also revealed that they plan to launch an e-tranvia in Intramuros, Manila soon.
