Trump says most workers affected by shutdown will get back pay
US President Donald Trump on Wednesday, October 8, said most workers effected by the government shutdown will get back pay.
"Most of them are going to get back pay," Trump told reporters on Wednesday. "But some of them are being hurt very badly by the Democrats, and they therefore won't qualify."
The US Internal Revenue Service will furlough more than 34,000 employees beginning Oct. 8 due to the government shutdown, according to a statement published on the agency's website.
