US actress Diane Keaton dies at 79
US actress Diane Keaton, famed for roles in "Father of the Bride" and "First Wives Club," has died at the age of 79, People reported on Saturday Li, citing a family spokesperson.
The actress, known for her quirky fashion sense, made her film debut in "Lovers and Other Strangers" in 1970. Since then she has starred in "The Godfather" trilogy, "Manhattan" (1979) and both "Father of the Bride" films.
Her performance in 1977's romantic comedy "Annie Hall" won her an Academy Award, BAFTA and Golden Globe for best actress. She won another Golden Globe award in 2004 for her role in "Somethings Gotta Give."
More recently, Keaton lent her voice to Dory's mother in Disney and Pixar's "Finding Dory" in 2016. In the same year she acted opposite Jude Law in "The Young Pope."
She has received various Lifetime Achievement Awards, including from the American Film Institute (AFI) in 2017 and the Golden Icon Award at the 2014 Zurich Film Festival.
