Severe flooding in central Vietnam claimed at least 13 lives and left people missing on Friday.
“The flood destroyed everything,” said Tran Van Vinh, a Hoi An resident, as he cleaned mud from his home.
"It’s so fierce and so fast. The floodwater rose to the roof within just a few hours. It was terrifying,” said lantern shop owner Luu Phuoc Dong.
Heavy rain is forecast to continue in central Vietnam, with daily rainfall exceeding 500 millimetres in some areas from early Friday until late Saturday, according to the government’s disaster agency.
