Russia unveils nuclear submarine “Khabarovsk” with advanced robotic technologies

The new nuclear submarine Khabarovsk was launched at the Sevmash shipyard in Severodvinsk during a ceremony led by Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov.
The launch took place at the facilities of the shipbuilding company JSC Production Association Sevmash under the supervision of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Andrey Belousov.
The event was attended by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Alexander Moiseyev, the Director General of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, Andrey Puchkov, and the Director General of Sevmash, Mikhail Budnichenko.
Designed by the Rubin Central Design Bureau for Marine Engineering, the submarine was developed to carry out strategic naval missions using modern underwater weapon systems and multipurpose robotic technologies.
During the ceremony, Belousov highlighted the significance of the event:
“Today marks an important milestone for us – the renowned Sevmash shipyard is launching the heavy nuclear missile cruiser Khabarovsk. This carrier of underwater weapons and robotic systems will ensure the security of Russia’s maritime borders and protect its national interests across the world’s oceans,” the minister stated.
Belousov thanked the engineers and technicians involved in the project and emphasized that the submarine will undergo a full cycle of sea trials before entering active service.
