A Peruvian police officer dressed as Spider-Man took part in an undercover raid in Lima on Saturday, helping dismantle a criminal gang accused of micro drug trafficking.
Footage shows officers from the National Police of Peru's Green Squad – Terna Sur 1 unit forcing entry into a residence, detaining suspects, and escorting them to police vehicles. Seized packets of presumed drugs and officers posing with the detainees can also be seen.
The operation took place in the Santiago de Surco district, where three alleged members of the gang 'Los Diabolicos de Malambito' were arrested. Officers seized about 2,100 packets of suspected narcotics along with cash.
Authorities said the Spider-Man disguise was used as a distraction during Halloween festivities, allowing officers to approach the suspects without raising suspicion.
It is not the first time Peruvian police have used costumes in their operations. In previous raids, officers have disguised themselves as Pikachu, Captain America, and Thor to catch criminals off guard.
