The government should promote the use of recyclable food containers among restaurants, hotels, and hawkers, says Teresa Kok (PH–Seputeh).
During the Dewan Rakyat debate on the Supply Bill 2026, Kok urged authorities to cut plastic use by encouraging paper-based containers and providing subsidies to local producers.
She also proposed that local councils mandate their use and called on the Environment Department to coordinate implementation efforts across agencies.
