Typhoon Fung-Wong has wreaked havoc in Taiwan's Yilan County, flooding over 1,000 homes, causing mudslides, and forcing the evacuation of more than 8,300 residents. Streets turned into rivers as record rainfall inundated the mountainous east coast, leaving 51 injured and businesses and schools shut. The typhoon, weakened after devastating the Philippines, continues its path toward Taiwan’s southern tip before moving into the Pacific.
