The band formed in Denver in 1965. They moved to New York in 1966. They gained popularity for being the first to use the Moog modular synthesizer and the theremin (an electronic musical instrument created in 1918 by Russian inventor Lev Sergeyevich Theremin) in their music. They played concerts with The Byrds, Grateful Dead, Canned Heat, The Lovin' Spoonful, and the Chambers Brothers. They opened for the Atlantic City Pop Festival in Atlantic City (August 1-3, 1969).
