US President Donald Trump has just approved a new law that could deepen engagement with Taiwan. The new law is an amendment to the Taiwan Assurance Act of 2020. It requires the US State Department to regularly review US guidelines for how it engages with Taiwan at least every five years.
"[This] is a step forward in the normalization of US-Taiwan relations,” said Taiwan Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung.
