The 2026 Mercedes-Benz C-Class L (long-wheelbase version exclusive to China) has received a major powertrain update! Mercedes has officially dropped the controversial 1.5T mild-hybrid setup and switched entirely to a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine (M254) across the entire lineup. Even better – every single 2026 C-Class L is now rear-wheel drive only, with no more front-wheel-drive-based variants.

Engine: 2.0T turbo (204 hp or 258 hp versions depending on trim)
Drivetrain: Pure rear-wheel drive (RWD) for all models
Standard features now include heated front seats
Longer wheelbase (+100 mm over standard C-Class) for massive rear legroom
