事故によって、地球に不時着したガイラー星の探検隊はゲルドン帝王の支配の下に「ガイラー帝国」を名乗り、地球侵略に乗り出す。 ゲルドン帝王に対抗する平和主義の科学者 ヤン博士はロボットに変形できる爆撃機「グロイザーX」を娘のリタに託して、日本へ脱出させた。リタは飛島パイロットチームの海阪譲と知り合い、彼とともにグロイザーXを駆って、ガイラー帝国の空爆ロボと戦う。

Following an accident, the Gailer star exploration team crash-landed on Earth and declared themselves the “Gailer Empire” under Emperor Gerdon's rule, launching an invasion of Earth. Dr. Yan, a pacifist scientist opposing Emperor Gerdon, entrusted his daughter Rita with the bomber “Groizer X,” which can transform into a robot, and sent her to escape to Japan. Rita befriends Yoshi Kaizaka of the Flying Island Pilot Team and, together with him, pilots the Groizer X to battle the Gailler Empire's aerial attack robots.
