A major verdict has been announced in the Toshakhana-II case against PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. The decision was delivered by Special Central Judge Shah Rukh Arjumand during a hearing held inside Adiala Jail.
According to the verdict, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have each been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment under Section 409, along with 7 years imprisonment under Sections 5, 2, and 47, making a total of 17 years imprisonment per person. Collectively, the total sentence amounts to 34 years.
Additionally, both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have been fined Rs 16.45 million each. Failure to pay the fine may result in further legal consequences.
The Toshakhana-II case was filed by NAB (National Accountability Bureau), which arrested both accused on July 13, 2024, inside Adiala Jail. They remained under NAB custody for 37 days, and the reference was formally filed in the accountability court on August 20, 2024.
Meanwhile, Section 144 has been extended in Rawalpindi till December 24, banning public gatherings, rallies, and protests to maintain law and order following the verdict.
