Israel Becomes First Country To Recognize Somaliland, Taiwan Backs Move

Israel has become the first country to formally recognize Somaliland, a Somali breakaway territory, as an independent country. Taiwan, which has economic ties with both states, supports the decision but didn’t say if it will follow suit.
