Catherine Angier from Nevada, USA, filmed the moment Murphy the pup fiercely guarding the ball from Coop in a friendly indoor match.
On a wet day stuck inside the house, Catherine throws the football at Coop just as he catches the ball the tiny defender jumps in on Copp and takes him out.
The video has gone viral on Instagram and is filled with comments appreciating the defence skills of the pooch.
One viewer commented: “The crazy part is this is perfectly legal defence.”
