Hundreds line up to get their hands on first minted coins of 2026

An eight-year-old Melbourne boy has minted the first coin in the world for 2026. Hundreds of people gathered in Canberra for the New Year’s Day tradition with this year's coin celebrating six decades of decimal currency in Australia.
