It is the pure clarity and positive energy of this evolutionary design language that the team around Volkswagen Chief Designer Andreas Mindt has transferred to the new ID. CROSS Concept. The design language of the compact SUV appears effortlessly elegant and intuitive – like everything executed with great expertise. The implementation and execution, however, reflect the high art and understanding of developing the Volkswagen brand's design DNA over decades, constantly reinterpreting it, and individually adapting it to a wide variety of vehicles and segments. In the case of the ID. CROSS Concept, the three cornerstones of Volkswagen design – "Stability," "Approachability," and "Secret Sauce" – have resulted in a charismatic SUV that is clean, powerful, and stands very stable on its large 21-inch wheels. The front and rear sections, in particular, reflect the positive and appealing aura typical of a Volkswagen. Furthermore, some design elements pay homage to great Volkswagen icons. These include, for example, the shape of the C-pillars, derived from the Golf, and the gills integrated into the upper section, reminiscent of a VW Bus or ID.
