Brigade — Last Laugh 1970 (USA, Garage, Psychedelic Rock)
The only album by a band formed in the summer of 1966 in Portland, Oregon. Initially called "The Better Set," then "The Blue Brigade," and finally simply "Brigade," they performed songs by The Beatles, The Association, and Iron Butterfly. On June 9, 1968, they won the KISN Radio Portland Teenfair Battle of the Bands contest and received a purple 1954 Cadillac hearse. Afterward, they began touring beyond their home street, neighborhood, and borough. As winners of the Battle of the Bands, they were given the opportunity and a venue to record this album. Several dozen copies were released on the Band 'n' Vocal label. The band members joyfully gave away all the records, keeping none for themselves. Then, however, we bought our own record from friends and acquaintances.
