Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro arrived Saturday evening (Jan 3) at a military base in the United States and was transferred to New York City, after his capture by US forces in Caracas.
US President Donald Trump said on Saturday (Jan 3) that they would continue overseeing its involvement in Venezuela until a safe, proper and judicious transition could be carried out, indicating an open-ended US role in the country.
