Basketball legend Jeremy Lin officially hangs up his jersey at age 37.
The Taiwanese American point guard first rose to fame with the New York Knicks in 2012, creating the global phenomenon known as “Linsanity.”
“He opened up so many avenues for Asian Americans, not just Taiwanese Americans, but Asian Americans in America, [to] just do bigger things, right?” said a fan at Lin’s jersey retirement ceremony.
Over a 15-year professional career, Lin played in the US, Canada and China before moving to Taiwan in 2023 to play with the Kaohsiung Steelers and the New Taipei Kings.
In 2019, Lin made history as the first Asian American to win an NBA championship while playing for the Toronto Raptors.
