The Rural and Regional Development Ministry has outlined five key focus areas to guide rural development programmes this year, aimed at ensuring sustainable, people-centric and values-based growth.
Speaking at the ministry's 2026 New Year Message event on Tuesday (Jan 6), Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the strategy, known as the 5Ps — People, Place, Productivity, Prosperity and Prophetic, will serve as the foundation for planning and implementation.
Zahid, who serves as Rural and Regional Development Minister, stressed that rural development must be managed with a corporate mindset to ensure value for money.
