Footch Kapoot — Good Clean Fun 1978 (USA, Progressive, Art Rock)

Recorded in 1978 but unreleased until 2005, "Good Clean Fun" was the sole release from the unknown American prog rock band Footch Kapoot. The album was recorded on an 8-track analog reel-to-reel tape recorder. With the exception of some minimal overdubs, everything was recorded as it was typically played live, so listening to these unusual recordings now allows one to immerse oneself in the unique atmosphere of the band's live performances from that distant era. Footch Kapoot consisted of six musicians who favored progressive music, but while writing quirky and eccentric melodies, they were not burdened by their sometimes obvious weakness for simple pop structures. They are all excellent performers, but judging by the title and the album artwork, they were not at all concerned with the commercial side of things at that moment.
