Zebras were filmed making a tense river crossing through crocodile-infested waters during the peak of the Great Migration.
The footage was captured by Sohail Suleman, also known as Sully, a private safari guide and photographic specialist from the Maasai Mara, Kenya, where the video was filmed inside the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya.
The zebras can be seen gathering at the riverbank, hesitating as they assess the danger before committing to the crossing.
River crossings are among the most dangerous moments of the migration, with predators and territorial hippos adding to the risk beneath the surface.
Sully said: “The zebras were deciding whether it was safe to cross. They needed to reach better grazing and rejoin larger herds, but the river always forces a pause.
“As a guide, you learn to read the small cues — who’s nervous, who’s testing the water, and who might lead.
“Once the first animal commits, everything changes in seconds. That uncertainty is what makes every crossing unique.
“The Mara River is one of the toughest obstacles the herds face. Watching them choose their moment is instinctive, risky, and completely unscripted.”
