Pirana is a two-album band from Sydney, one of the finest representatives of Australian progressive rock. Formed by keyboardist Stan White and three members of the pop group Gus & The Nomads—Jim Yonge (drums), Tony Hamilton (vocals, guitar), and Graeme Thompson (bass). Their first recording was a fill-in for Greg Quill's solo album, and in 1971 they signed with the legendary Harvest Records. The debut album had a slight Santana influence, but it didn't ruin it...
