It appears the central government is preparing to take a crucial decision even before the upcoming Union Budget. The government is reportedly considering a proposal to increase the minimum monthly pension under the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS-1995) from ₹1,000 to a substantial ₹9,000.
సుదీర్ఘ కాలంగా ఎదురుచూస్తున్న 65 లక్షల మందికి పైగా పెన్షనర్లకు ఇది నిజంగా తీపి కబురు! త్వరలో ప్రవేశపెట్టబోయే కేంద్ర బడ్జెట్ కు ముందే కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం ఒక కీలకమైన నిర్ణయం తీసుకునేందుకు సిద్ధమవుతున్నట్లు తెలుస్తోంది. ఎంప్లాయీస్ పెన్షన్ స్కీమ్ (EPS-1995) కింద ఉన్న కనీస నెలవారీ పెన్షన్ ను రూ.1,000 నుంచి ఏకంగా రూ.9,000కి పెంచే ప్రతిపాదనను ప్రభుత్వం పరిశీలిస్తోంది.
