The route offers a convenient and cost-effective option for cross-border travel and provides a reliable winter transportation link for essential goods such as agricultural products, daily necessities, and construction materials. As a unique winter facility on the Heilongjiang River, the crossing overcomes restrictions posed by ice thickness during frozen months, bridging the gap between ship navigation in the ice-free season and hovercraft operations in spring and fall, thus enabling year-round border access.
